Located in Upstate New York, Boots Brewing Company is a small scale Craft Brewery and Tap-Room.

Welcome to Boots Brewing Company! Please feel free to stop by our location in the historic Lincoln Building Downtown Watertown!

Parking: Public parking is available directly behind the Lincoln Building. Patrons can enter our brewery using the main rear entrance of the Lincoln building (three doors down from our labeled service doors). Simply walk up the main staircase and keep right past the Beauty Bar, directly to our door.

Patrons are always welcome to bring food in to our brewery. We keep a selection of restaurant menus on hand for your convenience as well.

Experiences serve to shape lives. So, when thinking of what to name our brewery, and our beers, we thought of different life experiences.  We thought of various travels, former professions, and most importantly friendships. Boots, of differing forms, were usually a common and basic necessity in many of those experiences.

We’re often asked about the story behind our name. Dan served in the Marine Corps. for 8 years. He deployed to Iraq shortly after graduating from Norwich University. On September 14, 2006 he suffered injuries that would bring him back home to recover and find other passions to pursue. That led him to buy a small home brewing kit to pass the time. This small hobby morphed into a home brewing production in his garage for about 10 years. He was encouraged to open a brewery and after several years of planning, Dan took the plunge. Look closely at the boots in our logo; these are Dan’s combat boots from Iraq, the ones that led him to Boots Brewing Company.

Most people who work hard know the value of a well made pair of boots.  And over the years we have worn our fair share, from sandy deserts, arctic tundras, and jungles both literal and urban there is no substitute for a well crafted and properly selected pair of boots.

The same things can be said for beer.  And during our travels far and wide we've shared some great beers with some amazing people in sometimes very unexpected places.

The boots worn, the people met, far off destinations and occupations and are all represented in some way in our beers.  So find one of our beers that fits you, and enjoy the experience.

Well traveled, thanks in part to growing up as an Army brat, time spent playing collegiate rugby for Norwich University, and then his own time spent in the U.S. Marine Corps, Dan learned long ago that there is a lot to be learned from travel and experiencing new cultures.  He also learned that there are few things more important than a good pair of boots, and a good beer at the end of a hard days work.  After working for years piecing together the idea and recipes for Boots Brewing Co. he was able to convince his wife (Kelly) that this was somthing they should pursue.

Kelly, being the more grounded and rational of the two, took some time to be won over on the idea of starting a brewery.  Especially since she didn't drink beer!!!  While studying to be an Occupational Therapist she went to school in NY's Finger Lakes wine region and had experienced an area that had a vibrant craft beverage culture and knew that there was an opportunity to expand that culture in her native Upstate NY.  After years of listening to and helping shape the business plan written by Dan she finally gave her thumbs up and the rest is history.  (She does drink beer now with a preference towards stouts and sours.)
